Ian Cooper

I am the founder of Cooper Woodworks, a custom design & build studio of fine furniture dedicated to being unique, affordable, and easy to work with. Wether you are an interior designer, architect, or home-owner, I am excited to work with you to elevate your home, office, or commercial space to new heights.

Before devoting my full attention to Cooper Woodworks, I started learning the construction trade. Starting at a young age in a small, family-owned business, building custom homes on San Juan Island, I learned framing and finish carpentry. Here, I learned the importance of balancing the aesthetic and structural integrity of a piece; form & function.

After many years growing up and working on San Juan Island, I moved to Seattle with my fiancé where I began working for a small, local, company installing solar power at a residential and industrial scale. I moved within the company there from being a solar panel installer on the roof, to designing the systems we were installing, to being a project manager. This was a great learning experience and helped me to greatly dive into the world of sustainability and renewable resources which plays heavily into the ethics of Cooper Woodworks.

During off days and nights, you can find me hiking around our beautiful, wild state of Wa or enjoying a drink & show around Eastlake, Ballard, and Fremont.
